Dr. Ekman has served as Lead Independent Director of InterMune’s Board of Directors since May 2008. Dr. Ekman has been a member of our Board since September 2006. He formerly served as Executive Vice President and President of Global Research and Development of Elan Pharmaceuticals. Prior to joining Elan, Dr. Ekman was Executive Vice President of Research and Development for Schwarz Pharma AG, and also served 14-years in a variety of senior scientific and clinical roles at Pharmacia (now Pfizer). Dr. Ekman also serves on the Board of Directors at Elan Pharmaceuticals, Amarin Corporation, ARYx Therapeutics, and Cebix Incorporated.
